Lonely

Everytime a team was selected,
Why was I always the one left behind?
Always the last one to be thought of,
And always the person to be forgotten.

Plans were made without me,
I was thought of as replaceable,
Shunned I was, into my room,
With only my reflection as a friend, It made me lonely.

Loneliness is weird and painful,
It can be felt in large crowds,
Even when you are smiling among friends and family,
It makes us forego reality.

I felt lonely around people,
I thought everyone shunned me,
But I had not accepted myself
Now I see loneliness among others.

You just need to accept yourself,
And let go of all insecurities,
You are beautiful and smart, deserving of all happiness and a permanent smile.
If you ever feel lonely, think about sharing it with me,
Trust me, I love that smile.

She

She started only with the dress on her frame
with nobody to help, no friend was same.
She ended up with no money in bank,
was it her misfortune she would thank?

Now she had only one choice, that was to move forward,
hard work was the only way to get a reward.
Now she didn’t have to believe anyone,
except for herself to be the one.

Lifting bricks in the scorching sunlight ,
and sweeping roads in the serene moonlight,
Lifting her spirit, she beared every pain,
she had left all the skeptics to bane.

After saving some money, she started to cook,
her hands had magic and magical was the recipe book.
After opening up a stall, she started to sell food,
no person had ever tasted food that good.

Soon the stall became a restaurant, and then a hotel,
she had become an example, for others to tell.
Soon she was on top, it was success she stacked,
she exhibited that there was nothing she lacked.

It’s doesn’t matter what you do, as long as you do something good,
hard work and determination will result in ‘I can’ rather than ‘I could’.
If after losing everything a person can gain more,
Do you really have what it takes to be true to your own core?

Hope

When you have no hope left,
Will you give up, or will you cry?
Or will you be able to carry the heft,
Of getting back up, once again, to try?

When you have no idea what to do next,
Will you waste time and postpone?
Or will you think of the next SpaceX?
Ofcourse do nothing and you will have to mourn.

When you have no courage,
Will you let go of your goal?
What happened to that rage,
That once ignited your heart and soul?

When you have no trust,
Will you be able to do everything alone?
No, but trusting yourself is a must,
Else, you’ll become like a cyborg or a clone.

When you see no opportunities,
Will you stop knocking on the doors?
Or will you perform mutinies,
To create new ones, until your satiety soars.

So have some patience, and perseverance,
Some consistence and coherence,
So that whenever there’s water in your eye
It’s not because of sadness, but because of joy.

Mother

It gave us trees, for animals to live, to purify air, for food,
But all we did was take it’s life and make it wood?

It gave us water, to drink, to travel, to cook whatever taste,
But all we did was collect from industries and houses and dump every waste?

It gave us air to breathe, and to protect from the harmful rays of the sun,
But all we did was to pollute it more and take global warming to the maximum?

It gave us land to live on, for the flowers to bloom,
But all we did was to add few chemicals for yield and made it infertile soon?

It sacrificed itself for the betterment of it’s children,
Who have turned a blind eye,
We have done everything to make it bedridden,
Who is to blame? You or I?

Now it’s time for us to make sure we respect her,
Though she demands in return, nothing,
If we don’t, it’ll set us ablaze with a scorching summer,
Or an earthquake, or  tsunami or something.

Thus to conclude we are children of a beautiful mother,
Whom, we all are, (and you know it’s true), are trying to smother.

P. S. The picture has been taken by me near the banks of Kabini river, Coorg.

Money

The day was at the stage of twilight,
He entered the forest with all his might.
A couple of medical plants was his aim.
Grey bearded, the wizard had a weak frame.

His wand was made out of fine oak
His dilapidated condition made him look broke.
All of a sudden, he casted a diabolic spell,
Was the expression of agony? or of anxiety, one couldn’t tell.

His spell had worked, lying there was a body covered in gold,
His move was true yet cold.
Because, the body, was that of a huge ogre,
The wizard couldn’t go near the giant because of the unbearable odour.

He started thinking, how an ogre landed in that part of the forest.
Was it because of the stone he had found on the crest?
Could it be possible that he found a treasure?
Was it his destiny or a coincidence, he wasn’t sure.

The wizard went back home with a grin,
Oblivious to the fact that he had committed a sin.
The stone was powerful, it turned him into an alchemist,
Swallowed by hunger, it turned him into a narcissist.

He forgot his older good, all his acts of benevolence,
Wealth had forced him to commit more malevolence.
Ultimately his desire, consumed him,
His possibility of coming back was certainly dim.

All that was left was a palace full of gold,
With a lonely wizard who couldn’t stop from growing old.
Like every being, he died without taking anything,
Instead he could’ve used it to help every poor living thing.

Remember money is what will bring you name,
At that time, people are your friends, they’ll claim.
But once that money leaves your hands,
You’ll be left to yourself and your lavish demands.
So use that wealth for doing something right,
The poor and weak deserve a fight,
Against ego, superiority and pride,
It’s time we take every oppressed life’s side.

Alone

Bham! The grenade rocked our tent,
Gunpowder with mud was the scent.
Light from the jeeps and the hummers shone
Upon our camp, yet I was alone.

No prayer could help us nor any psalms,
Lying on the ground were some feet and some arms.
Blood and mud made everyone look like a clone
There were many, yet I was alone.

Shrapnel pierced skins like a couple of hungry thorns,
A battlefield was made out of an innocent farm of corns.
There was little to no time to moan,
We tagged along and ran, yet I was alone.

We ran and ran, till we could hear no sound,
Felt safe only after hiking the great mound.
The status of other brigades was unknown,
Was surrounded by pounding hearts, yet I was alone.

Drenched with fear and burning with anger,
Stuck like a set of clothes on a hanger.
We decided to storm the front in a single tone,
The decision was unanimous, yet I was alone.

The attack went great, a lot of them got killed,
But the flip side was brutal, even my brothers were grilled.
Our commander’s head was bashed with a stone,
Together in a bunker, yet I was alone.

When our hopes were riding low,
We lost our courage and took one last blow.
Finally our backup forces arrived with the drone,
Eventually we had turned into I, and I was alone.

We all come into this world alone,
We all go back into the earth alone,
But we shouldn’t forget that we are more than flesh and bone
All our loved ones never make us feel alone.
